Tim has been training athletes of all levels and abilities in the Western PA area for thirteen years(7 at UPMC Sports Performance) and has been working in strength and conditioning since 1999. Tim played Division 1 basketball at Florida Atlantic University. In the summer of 1999 he was an intern for the Chicago Bulls under the tutelage of Hall of Fame strength and conditioning coach, Al Vermeil. After college Tim was hired as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Florida Atlantic. While at FAU, he assisted with strength and conditioning for football and was in charge of the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning program for men’s basketball, baseball, softball, swimming and diving. In January of 2005 he was hired at UPMC as a sports performance coach. While at UPMC, he designed and implemented programs for NFL Combine prep, high school, college and professional athletes. Tim has been a consultant to the Athletic Enhancement Group (AEG) in Wellington, FL. since 2003. His philosophy on training has been shaped by a passion for Soviet training and Olympic style weightlifting. He has had the privilege of being able to learn from great minds within the strength and conditioning community including: Rob Oshinskie (Victory Performance and Fitness), Al Vermeil, Bill Maxwell (Iowa), Jeremy Fedoruk (AEG), Dane Miller (Garage Strength), Mike Gattone and Erik Helland (Chicago Bulls). Tim holds a B.S.E. in Exercise Science from Florida Atlantic University. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and a Club Coach through USA Weightlifting.
